Increase volume - Linux
Follow the steps below to increase volume on any
Check Partitions
lsblk - will show list of partitions
fdisk to /dev/nvme0n1
sudo fdisk /dev/nvme0n1
type "p" and enter
type "d" and enter
type "2" and enter
type "n" and enter
press enter
press enter
press enter
press enter
type "p" and enter
type "w" and enter
reboot system
Once restarted check the partition again
lsblk - will show list of partitions
the nvme0np2 (main partition) should be resized with the available storages
Run pvresize on the disk
sudo pvresize /dev/sda12
extend rood volume or what ever you want to change
resize root
sudo lvextend -L+50G /dev/mapper/VolGroup00-rootVol
sudo resize2fs /dev/mapper/VolGroup00-rootVol
resize home
sudo lvextend -L+50G /dev/mapper/VolGroup00-homeVol
sudo resize2fs /dev/mapper/VolGroup00-homeVol
to reduce but not on root since it will remove startup scripts
sudo lvreduce -L50G /dev/VolGroup00/homeVol
sudo resize2fs /dev/mapper/VolGroup00-homeVo
